I. Purpose:
The instrument is designed and made as per the National Standard GB/T1723 “Test Methods for Viscosity of Paint or Coating”. It is suitable to determine viscosity of paint or coating, which is less than 150 s. it is a portable instrument for paint or coating viscosity determination. Fill liquid sample to be determined in a special container. Calibrate viscosity of liquid using the time that the sample required to flow out of the container through a standard effuse tube. Its unit is second.
II. Technical characteristics:
1. It is made of copper, about 100 ml. Its size and roughness of inner wall are in accord with the stipulation in GB/T 1723. There is a effuse tube at the bottom of the instrument.
2. Calibration coefficient K: Multiply viscosity determined using a calibrated viscometer by K to get specific viscosity of the viscometer. The K should be in the range of 1±0.03, or you should replace the viscometer. You should calibrate the viscometer regularly as per the use frequency.
3. For a standard liquid with known kinematic viscosity, the difference between measured value by the point-4 viscometer and calculated value should be within ±3% of calculated value.
